Arriving in Mykonos

Most ferries use the New Port at Tourlos, about 2 km from Mykonos Town. There are local buses, a small sea bus to the old port in summer, and taxis, but queues are long when a big ferry arrives.

Good to know

  • Rafina is about 30 minutes from Athens Airport, so it is often the easiest port if you land and sail the same day.
  • Check your ticket: a few small boats still use the Old Port in town.

Ferry or flight?

The flight takes about 40 minutes, but with the trip to the airport and check-in it is rarely less than 3 to 4 hours door to door. The ferry takes you from city to port with no baggage fees, and the view is part of the trip. The flight is better if you are short of time or the sea is rough. Mykonos airport guide.
